Loss Control Representative/Safety Trainer
We have an opening for a Loss Control Representative/Safety Trainer in our home office located in Denver, Colorado.  CIRSA is the municipal insurance pool of Colorado providing property/liability and workers’ compensation coverages and services to communities across the state. 

The Loss Control Representative/Safety Trainer is responsible for conducting audits, surveys, providing training, consultations, and other general safety and health responsibilities for their assigned members and will be expected to learn each member’s operations, resource availability, and operational capability. The position will evaluate applicable regulatory information and use this information as a guideline to creatively and cooperatively develop department-specific short and long-term improvement plans, programs, etc.  The ideal candidate will have a continuous improvement mindset, knowing that effective and productive loss control efforts are not compliance driven, but rather relationship, educational, and guidance driven.

The position is also responsible for developing and conducting high-quality, creative, and engaging occupational safety and health training courses. Course development includes both classroom and hands-on courses. Other duties may include coordinating e-learning functions, such as online courses, monthly webinars, developing job safety analyses, participating and/or coordinating meetings, seminars, workshops, safety video’s, etc.

Weekly travel is required throughout the state of Colorado with frequent overnight stays.  Training and site visits are conducted year-round in varying weather conditions including snow, ice, etc.

Requires a bachelor’s degree in safety, risk management or an equivalent field with preferred 3-5 years of full-time safety/risk management experience and possession of or working towards a Certified Environmental, Health and Safety Trainer Certification.
