Nick joined CIRSA as Associate General Counsel in 2024. Before joining CIRSA, Nick worked in the Denver City Attorney’s Office, and then for a Denver-based municipal law firm where he served as general and special counsel for municipalities and public entities throughout Colorado. At CIRSA, Nick is a trusted resource for municipal officials seeking to understand and manage liability risk exposure in the complex legal landscape governing public entities. Nick frequently provides training for elected and appointed officials and municipal staff on risk management topics tailored to the unique challenges faced by municipal organizations. Nick and Sam Light have been leading CIRSA’s efforts to familiarize municipal staff with the opportunities and risks associated with the use of artificial intelligence systems in local government operations. Nick received his law degree from the Indiana University Maurer School of Law in 2016.
