This course introduces participants to the fundamentals of playground safety, emphasizing the importance of identifying and addressing common hazards associated with playgrounds and related equipment. The training covers key playground components, surfacing, and use zones, with a strong focus on hazard recognition, corrective action, and proper maintenance practices.

Offered as a newly developed hybrid course, participants will complete both a classroom session and a post-course assignment to earn a completion certificate. This course is designed for staff responsible for the maintenance and management of public playgrounds and may also benefit those involved in budgeting or ADA compliance by providing valuable insight into the complexities of playground maintenance and improvement.
