Colorado POST and CIRSA are partnering to offer ICAT to our member police departments, FREE of charge. ICAT is a new approach to use-of-force training that provides first responding officers with the tools, skills, and options they need to successfully defuse a range of critical incidents. The workshop will focus on situations involving persons in crisis and those who are unarmed or armed with weapons other than firearms. ICAT was developed by PERF (Police Executive Research Forum), utilizing best practices and input from hundreds of law enforcement professionals nationwide. Many CIRSA members are already implementing ICAT.

This course will cover multiple topics, such as Suicide by Cop, Step Up and Step In, and other leadership modules, to include role-playing scenarios.

Full attendance on both days is required to receive credit and a certificate of attendance and must be completed during the same course dates, i.e., one cannot attend day two at a different location than the day one training.

An Ethical Decision Making Under Stress (EDMUS) 8-hour course will be held the following day at this location. While it is a separate seminar, they overlap to create 2.5 days of quality law enforcement training.

NOTE: There is a max limit of three people per agency for these events, so please be sure to register.
