First Responder/HAZMAT Awareness –This course provides a basic understanding of what to do in a hazardous material emergency. Designed for non-professional rescuers, who as part of their daily jobs, may come in contact with an unknown, potentially dangerous spilled, leaking, overturned, or otherwise suspicious substance. This course does not prepare students to become HAZMAT Technicians, Operators, Specialists, or Incident Commanders, nor does it meet any HAZWOPER requirements for first responder training. However, this course will provide practical knowledge of how to use the Emergency Response Guidebook while responding to a potential HAZMAT event. 3.5 Hours
