This class will provide an overview of 8CCR 1507-1, Rules and Regulations Concerning Minimum Standards for the Operation of Commercial Vehicles. This will be an opportunity for participants to get a good understanding of the sections of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations adopted by the State of Colorado. This class will be presented by members of the Colorado State Patrol Motor Carrier Safety Section and will provide the chance to speak directly with CSP officers responsible for outreach and enforcement. A discussion of any specific work experience regarding the operation of commercial motor vehicles will be encouraged.

Learning Objectives

  • General DOT information, and what to expect (inspection levels, what
    violations do to safety score SMS)
  • Drug and Alcohol clearinghouse including the what’s and why, and who does what
  • What is a driver or DQ file and what needs to be in it, and how often things need to be done
  • What is a vehicle file, and what needs to be in it
