Interactions with people with disabilities can present challenges for officers. This four-hour regional seminar will help law enforcement personnel improve their approach, understanding, and tactics when encountering people with disabilities. This training course will satisfy the training requirements as represented within POST 24-31-315. Topics covered will include:
- How does the ADA apply to law enforcement
- Deaf/Hard of Hearing
- Physical Disabilities
- Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities
- Dementia and Cognitive Disabilities
- Service Animals and local law enforcement
