Controller

CIRSA is seeking an experienced Controller with strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills. The Controller will be responsible for ensuring that the financial practices and policies support the strategic goals and improve the effectiveness of the organization.

The Controller coordinates the functions of the Finance Department under the direction of the Assistant Director/Chief Financial Officer. The Controller will lead the team in areas including, but not limited to, financial statements, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll; the development and implementation of departmental goals, objectives, and policies; identifying and implementing improvements to Finance Department procedures; reviewing financial statements, reports, records, and reconciliations; developing and administering annual budgets; calculating loss projections and setting rates; and performing special projects as assigned.

Position Hiring Range:

$109,200 – $174,800 DOQ

  • Have knowledge of finance administration principles, management theories, and actuarial methods and terminology.
  • Possess the ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.

  • Are skilled in and adept at learning multiple software platforms and technologies integral to the financial functions of the organization.

What You Bring to CIRSA:

  • Education: bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting and or any equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
  • Work Experience: 7+ years of progressively responsible accounting experience, including three years of supervisory experience.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation preferred.
  • Public entity insurance pooling experience is a plus.
  • Valid Driver’s License preferred.
