New Online Training Platform

New Online Training Platform

Over 10,000 people use our online training platform each year, accessing approximately 20,000 courses covering safety training, supervisory and loss prevention. As of January 2, 2019, you’ll be able to find even more resources through a new online training platform, called LocalGovU.

The new online training platform will expand our e-learning resources with hundreds of courses, covering topics ranging from management and productivity to law enforcement, corrections, fire and EMS. It includes scheduling, tracking and reporting tools, and is frequently updated with new materials. The added resources are offered free for members, just like our current platform.

It’s important that you take a few steps before December 31st to prepare for the change as neither CIRSA or members will have access to FirstNet Learning after 12/31/18:

  • Print any certificates for completed OCPO (Operator Certification Program Office) courses, to ensure you get training unit credits you’ve earned.
  • System administrators should run any reports needed to track member participation, training requirements, scheduling or program results

You will find the login link for LocalGovU in the same place on our website and once everything is activated all current users will receive an email prompting them to update their passwords before they can enter the new site. CIRSA has transitioned all active users to the new platform and LocalGovU will be sending out a short series of training emails in the upcoming months to assist members with usage of the new system.

We are looking for your help in raising awareness with your employees. As such, please share this article with colleagues to spread the word to ensure everyone knows what to expect on January 2, 2019. If a user hasn’t been active for 365 days, they will need to re-register on the new LocalGovU system.
